We have started our second diagnostic test for the year and are seeing growth in students reading and math. If students go to fast through the test, we are asking teachers to let admin know, and reset the test. This test helps us determine supports your student may need, support teachers in grouping students within their classrooms, and our ELD students can reclassify if they score high enough out of the ELD program.

Great Kindness Week Challenge January 23rd-27th
THE GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE
Our school is proudly participating in The Great Kindness Challenge, a week-long program dedicated to creating a culture of kindness and compassion in communities worldwide. To help our students practice kindness and put their compassion into action, they will receive a Great Kindness Challenge checklist. January 23 - 27, 2023. When they complete the checklist they will receive a bracelet with positive self-affirmations to remind them the truth of who they are.
To promote kindness on Belshaw’s campus we have done classroom lessons, in the majority of classes, to understand the importance and impact of using EMPATHY and KINDNESS with others.
Classrooms will have opportunity to participate in school wide kind acts such as campus clean up, buddy reading, and writing notes of appreciation to others.
Together, we will lift each other up, cheer each other on and show the world that KINDNESS MATTERS!
We will encourage all students to complete as many acts of kindness as possible at school and hope they feel inspired to continue them at home!
