Attendance Hotline 925-779-7541 (24 hours/day)
If a student is not in school, the parent or guardian shall verify the reason for the absence. To verify your student’s absence: Parents must provide the student with a doctor’s note (to be brought to the main office on the date of return) or call the 24-hour/7-day-a-week attendance number at 925-779-7541 to verify their student’s absence within 48 hours. Parents are encouraged to call the school at that same number in advance of any known student absences. Once this phone call has been made, students will not require any further documentation and will be able to report directly to their first class upon their return to school. When calling the twenty-four (24) hour message recorder the following information must be provided:
- Full/legal name of student - please spell the last name.
- Your name, relationship to the student, and a daytime telephone number where you can be contacted.
- Specify if student absence is all-day, late arrival, or early release.
- Exact nature of the reason for the student's absence (i.e. illness, dentist appointment, funeral, etc.).
Computerized Attendance Notification
DLMHS has an automated system that will call the home each evening stating, “your student has been marked absent for one or more periods”. This is a reminder that a parent/guardian must then call the 24-hour absence line at 925-779-7541 to leave a message regarding the absence. If an absence remains unexcused, the student may be subject to disciplinary consequences.
