    General Info

    • Please use the following link during 1st and 2nd EVERYDAY for DVTV! https://www.antiochschools.net/dvtv
    • Teachers: Remember that your door should be locked at all times during the school day.
    • Deer Valley is a strictly CLOSED CAMPUS for lunch.  No students are allowed to leave the campus during lunchtime. Also - at no time during the school day are students permitted to exit the campus to the parking lots.  This will be strictly enforced by security.
    • A reminder that students are not allowed to ride their skateboards, skates, bicycles, scooters, etc. anywhere on campus.

    Student Activities

    • The week of January 23rd we will be having our Spirit Week, Series of DV! It’ll be based on streaming services and tv shows.
      • Monday – High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – Dress as high school stereotypes (jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, etc.)
      • Tuesday – Battle of the Subscriptions (Rally) -      Seniors: Disney+ (Wear blue)

    Juniors: Hulu (Wear green)

    Sophomores: Netflix (Wear red)

    Freshmen: HBO Max (Wear purple)

      • Wednesday – Wednesday (Show) – Dress in all black
      • Thursday – Stranger Things – Dress like you’re in the 80’s
      • Friday -  All Out Teal and Black! – Bonus points for class shirts!

     

    • Tuesday, January 24th, will be rally schedule with dismissal at 1:21. The Winter Rally will start at 1:35 and end at 2:25. House 1 and 4 teachers will supervise this rally, House 2 and 3 already supervised our first rally in September. All teachers will supervise our Class of the Year Rally in May. See the rally day schedule below.

    • The DV Talent Show will be held on January 27th and hosted by the Performing Arts Academy.  Start planning your performance now. Variety acts, singing, dancing, comedy acts, musical acts are all welcome. Auditions will hold on January 12th.     • Need help with Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Career Based Math or Math Endeavors? Please come to the Math Tutoring Center. It will be open and available on Monday’s and Thursdays from 3:40-4:40PM in Room 217. Peer tutors will be available.
    • If you have ever been interested in shutting down the Digital Noise, join us for “Unplugged”. “Unplugged,” is a Digital Detox event, which will be held in the Library, during regular library hours.  The Digital Detox will be held every Wednesday in November, starting on the 9th.  During this time, quiet activities will be available for those who are interested. We will require that all digital devices be turned off and “Unplugged”.Sign-ups for these events will be held in the library each Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 for the Wednesday Events.  Please, see your Library Staff to sign-up. Seating is limited, and you must have your ID to participate.

    Athletics

    • Any girls interested in trying out for the 2023 Girls' softball program and missed the sign-up meeting last week, need to come see Coach Tillson in the Girls' PE office to get signed up and receive important information about tryouts.  If there are questions, feel free to email or send me a message on Teams.  
    • Attention Wolverines. Boys Tennis season will start in the spring with conditioning beginning when we come back from winter break.

    Our Tennis made it to NCS for both singles and double last year and this year we want to take the pennant from heritage. If you are interested in joining the team Stop by Coach Moats’ room 207 and or come to the meeting on Monday.

    • Track season begins on Tuesday, January 17. Make sure you have completed a physical and have uploaded the form to athletic clearance.  For more information about track, see Coach Green in Room 411 or send an email or TEAMS message.
    • Deer Valley baseball is in full swing.  If you are interested in playing baseball this year, we are having open field workouts on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  Everyone is welcome.  Grab your glove, baseball clothes and cleats and meet us on the field at 4 O’clock.

    College and Career Center News

    • HBCU’s will be having a presentation in the theater on Friday Feb 3 from 10-11 AM to talk about educational resources. It will be geared towards African American 11th and 12th grade students with 2.3GPA and higher. To sign up for the event there is a flyer in each  house office where you can scan the QR code OR go see Ms Kathy or Ms Tiffany in Room 210
