The Role of a DVHS Counselor
School Counselors support the developmental and academic needs of students. Counselors collaborate with school staff, administration and the parent community to ensure the integration and alignment of the school counseling program with the mission of the school. School counselors deliver prevention and intervention services that support the academic, career, personal, interpersonal and healthy development of all students. Prevention and intervention services include academic advocacy, classroom/group guidance lessons, individual student planning, staff and parent consultation, school program support and crisis response.
