When you try to submit your work, I would try and keep it to one page. This should allow you to upload your work to Aeries.

If you need to make up work from last week, I am still accepting it. You may need to send an email to remind me.

Students and Parents

I hope you all are doing well! I added this brief letter to let you know this Monday I will not have office hours. Monday is a school district holiday and I will check back with you on Tuesday.

The written assignments due on Monday can be turned in on Tuesday. As well, I added notes to the area assignment for Math 8 students, since some students were having difficulty showing their work for their answers. You can look in the handout section of the webpage to see the notes.

One more thing, if you are trying to upload your assignment into Aeries with a picture (jpeg) from you phone then I think you can only upload one page. If you are trying to upload two pages of work then you need to scan your work as a pdf file. I think pictures require more space for storage and Aeries is not providing this storage. Maybe, you can turn a pictures into a pdf files?

Again, my office hours are 10:30 to 11:30 every day. You can email me if you need to talk on the phone at this time.

Take Care!

Apirl 8, 2020,

Students,

I have gotten emails asking how to turn in your written work. These are the steps needed:

1) Take a picture of you work with your phone.

2) Uploade the picture to your Aeries' grades online for the specific assignment in my class. This is the same place you check your grades online.

3) Email me if you have not recieved credit. I am updating grades every other day except weekends.

I wil call during my office hours if you have more questions and you leave a number.

Thanks

Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Again,  I hope you and your families are well! Due to school closure, we will now be receiving lessons on line. As we move our lessons online, students will need access to some type of online device to have the opportunity to complete the weekly lessons assigned, as we attempt to support your learning.

Students are assigned 100 minutes of I Ready Computer Generated Lessons and a worksheet of problems located in the weekly lesson. The focus of the first week is to get students started on the I Ready lesson, ensuring student can access distant learning. Most I Ready lessons are review or meet students at their current learning levels’. So, students should need minimal help on I Ready.

Starting Tuesday April 7, lessons will be located at this website with assignments attached here and on Aeries to be downloaded. Lessons will be supported with videos and examples of problems solved on the weekly worksheet.

To support students and parents with extra help, I will have office hours every day from 10:30 to 11:30 with immediate phone hours and email hours during this time. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are dedicated for Math 8 students. Tuesday sand Thursdays are for Algebra 1 students. If you wish me to call you then please leave a number at which you can be reached.

Office Hours:

Math8: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10:30 to 11:30

Algebra: Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 to 11:30

Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Due to school closure we will now be receiving lessons on line. First, I hope you and your families are well! As we move our lessons online, students will need access to some type of online device to have the opportunity to complete the weekly lessons assigned, as we attempt to support your learning.

All assigned lessons will be located on my webpage at the Dallas Ranch Homepage. Any assigned work that students are required to submit will be uploaded to Aeries, and this work can be turned into Aeries provided students or parents have an Aeries account with the school district. If a student does not have online access, then students’ work can be picked up and turned at the office.

Each week students will be given a worksheet for a given topic and students will be expected to complete 100 minutes of I Ready, computer generated lessons. The lessons will include vocabulary, examples, and the answers for all assigned problems. In addition, there will be a video linked to the lesson that models the concepts for solving or simplifying answers. As well, each day I am available for virtual office hours to help students with problems or to answer any question.  However, at this point I am working to find an online platform for virtual office hours to meet with students.

Most of all, the first few weeks will be devoted to ensuring and helping students to get the online access. So please share this information with any classmates, who may not have received this information.

Thank you

Hulan Barnett
