Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Cheryl Brinkman
I'm very excited to be going the Physical Education Department. This is my 11th year here at Dallas Ranch and my 21st year in AUSD! I'm the volleyball coach for the girls volleyball team and I'm also the Athletic Director. I just celebrated my 23rd anniversary during quarantine. I have two daughters. Kaytlin attends Cal State Fullterson where she plays soccer, and my other daughter just graduated from University of Oregon, where she was on the Dance Team. I have a Golden Retriever grandpup named Howard, an orange grandkitty named Bug, and two of my own dogs, Rosie (Border Collie Austrailan Shepherd Mix) and Tucker (black lab). I also have a cat named Bella!
At DRMS, we strive to offer a high-quality physical education program to our students. As this school year is starting off like no other year before, please be patient as we are all learning how to navigate this new approach to school. Physical Education, will definitely not look like what it would if we were meeting on-site and using equipment provided by the school. This year will present many obstacles for both students and teachers alike, but there is nothing we cannot overcome together. Our hopes are to mix in virtual and physical activities, as well as focus on some of the more cognitive aspects of physical education and health concepts.
We believe in the potential for each of our students to be successful in their physical education classrooms (either virtually, in-person, or hybrid), and we look forward to a great year of learning with you. We are excited to test our creative abilities and get to know each of you.
How to find your Virtual Classroom
We will be using Microsoft Teams to post and submit electronic assignments. Each student will be joined to a Microsoft Team automatically (or will be able to join via a link on their Microsoft Calendar that corresponds to their scheduled class time). If you have any difficulties email me ASAP.
Virtual Office Hours
These are hours which I will be available via email and live, on Microsoft Teams. This time will be used for questions regarding assignments, class, and other schoolwork concerns. The link is found on the student’s Microsoft Teams Calendar.
I am committed to responding to all student and parent emails within 24 hours on weekdays.
