We are providing several different things the first week of school. At the registration time for K/1, Sept. 2nd from 8:30 to 11:30, you will receive Wonders Workbook for English Language Arts, My Math Workbook, First graders will receive text books (red books) Wonders Anthology and Readers Writers Workshop books. These Red text books must be returned to school. Each unit will have a different book so they will need to be swapped out every couple months. Your student will also get a goodie bag full of school supplies, math manipulatives with work mats, an art bag with needed cut outs for projects, and additional work packets. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not allow your student to use any of these items until we direct them to. It is important that they have what they need each day and our daily lessons will depend on the proper usage of these things. It is our sincerest hope that the scissors, number cube, foam dice, 2 color counters and the counting cubes be returned to us when we start teaching in person or at the end of the year, whichever comes first. These items came from our classroom supplies that we use year to year.
We hope to hand out new packets every 2-4 weeks to include work and art supplies. You will be asked to come to school for these and we will provide days and times when you can do that. Because of this system we are asking for donations of zip lock baggies: snack, quart and gallon sizes. As the need arises, I will let you know what else we might need.
I am looking forward to an exciting and wonderful year. It takes a team to educate your child and you are an integral part of their education. I look forward to working with you! Remember to have patients as we navigate distance learning with our young learners. There will be challenges along the way. However, I am confident we will meet academic standards and come out stronger if we all work together. Feel free to email, call, or message me on SeeSaw anytime with questions. I want to hear from you!
Together in Education,
