Dr. Heather Wenzler

Hello and welcome to DV!

I am excited to begin my 5th year at Deer Valley and am especially excited to be the new Yearbook and Publications adviser.

I graduated in March of 2017 with my PhD in Curriculum and Teaching from Northcentral University. I am a mother of 3: Tyler, 20; Jordan, 18; and Bryn, 16. I have 3 adorable miniature Australian Shepherds: Mojo, Marley, and Marco. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan (if you haven't seen my room, stop by!!).

This past summer, I took a small group of students to Scotland and England and we had a BLAST! We got to see Edinbrugh Castle, Shakespeare's birthplace, Windsor Castle (where Harry and Meghan were wed!), Tower Bridge in London, and may other amazing sites.

I am a British citizen: my family comes from Liverpool, England, though I was born here in the states. My family is a sept of the Scottish clan Macnaughton (if you have no idea what this means, I invite you to check out a bit of British history on the clans - hugely entertaining!), so you'll often see me wearing my clan tartan!

I am entering my 15th year of teaching and I have taught every grade level except 2nd, 3rd, and 11th! I love my job!

I am the Google administrator on campus so if you ever need help with Google, please let me know!

Cheers!

  • Welcome to Deer Valley!

Please make sure to be prepared for school each day.  Bring your necessary supplies and be ready to work hard.

Remember: grades are not a gift, they are earned.

You will get out of your courses what you put in.

    Cheers,

    Dr. W
