Mrs. Cassandra Varner
Hello! I am Mrs. Varner and I teach U.S Government, Economics, and AP Psychology to the senior class here at DLMHS. I have been teaching at DLMHS for the past 9 years. Prior to that I taught at Dallas Ranch Middle School, Mno Grant Elementary, and I started my career at Antioch High School where I taught for several years.
Personally, I am married to my husband Ron of 28 years and we have two grown children, our eldest daughter is in her 3rd year of teaching Kindergarten and our youngest daughter is a Senior at CalPoly in San Luis Obispo.
I am excited to begin this new year even though this is just the craziest thing I can even imagine with online teaching. It will be a learning experience for all of us. But with some patience, determination, and grit, we will get there. My courses are so interesting because they change year by year, month by month, and day by day. One day we will be planning to learn something and then something will happen in our world that completely changes what we end up discussing! But, trust me, I do have a plan.
Attached on this page you will see my course syllabus for US Government and AP Psychology. I will also include a link to my digital classroom which has other links embedded into it that can help you access even more resources (click on the Llamma for Senior Scoop information or weekly announcements for seniors.)
I use remind as a very efficient way to quickly communicate with students so please make sure you have signed up (the codes can be found in the digital class room by clicking on the remind logo on the class whiteboard. I am always available through virtual office hours at the end of each daily class session. I am also available if you message me through teams. You can message me through remind. Or you may email me at email@example.com.
My Monday Office Hours are from 10:00-12:00.
Looking forward to an interesting year but happy to be teaching the Class of 2021. Go Seniors!
