WELCOME TO THE BEST WEBSITE EVER

  • Thank you Orchard Park Students and Families,

I feel blessed to have been able to teach such a wonderful and talented group of students this school year.  I regret that due to circumstances beyond anybody’s control we had to cancel most of the end of the year art projects and computer assignments.  Though I feel honored that so many students, with the help of parents and guardians nudging them along, tried their best to complete their distance learning assignments and continued in their studies despite difficulties.

I hope that all my students, (even those of you who slacked off), enjoy your summer.  It might not feel like the best summer, but all of you in your own ways have earned the time off to do nothing.  A summer to play video games, to watch tv, to read, to do your hobbies all day, to make art, to help your parents, to be bored, to stay up late, and to sleep in.  I wish everybody to have a good restful summer so that one day in the future we will be able to come back to the classroom ready to learn.  We do not know much about the future, but I do know that it will be better if all of you are there.  Stay healthy and stay safe.

    The Best,

    Mr. Cordes

Mr. Cordes

Hello!  How are you doing!  I'd like to take the time to introduce myself:

I graduated from Deer Valley High school in 2003, aka "A super long time ago" - Students.  I have an AA in Liberal Arts from Los Medanos Community College, BFA in Visual Effects and Animations/Computer Art from The Art Academy University in San Francisco, and a BFA in Helping Others Make Awesome Art.

I have experience with Computer Art and many different kinds of art media which has helped me create a solid fine art program at Orchard Park.  The art program at Orchard Park teaches basic and advanced skills in Drawing, painting, modeling, constructions, computers, and impressing your friends, parents and others with awesome art.

I also teach Computers.  We cover many different subjects and programs with computers to give students a good dose of technology that will help them achieve in high school.  This includes using Microsoft programs like Word and Excel, but also digital art programs, animation programs, and the basics of computer programing.

I'm very proud of being able to teach in the community I've grown up in and to help my students have artistic and academic achievements.

Thought for the year: You don't need to buy a rocketship if you can go to the stars with what you have already.
