Multiple Subjects Credential k-12 B.S. in Marketing A.S. in Medical Transcription Comfy Kidz Daycare from 2008-2010 (own business)
Hi Tiger Families,
Welcome to my page! Let me tell you a little bit about my eduation and my time here at Marsh. I earned my A.S. degree in Medical Transcription from Skyline College back in 1995. I then worked for a bit as a transcriptionist, but I felt that it was a very lonely job. I needed more social interaction and so, I transferred to the University of San Francisco. I got accepted into the Department of Kinesiology as I wanted to be a Physical Therapist. However, I met my husband, fell in love and well... I decided to postpone my education. Eventually, I did go back to school, but I had 3 young children and couldn't actually go to school... I decided to finish my B.A. Degree in Marketing at the American Intercontinental University - earning an online degree. It was difficult, but I did it!! As I have always been good with children, I opened up a daycare business in my home. I decided to pursue teaching and I have been very happy with this decision.
After completing my student teaching in 2012, I started subbing here at Marsh. I then moved into the Reading Intervention Department and learned many strategies to help students become better readers. After 3 years in Intervention, I started teaching First Grade. I love the energy that this age group has. Although it is challenging because they are so young and are learning to be more independent, I found it very rewarding as I saw the students increase in their knowledge from just knowing letters and sounds to learning what to do with that as they build words and start learning how to write sentences. I have now been teaching here for 8 years. I have always felt welcomed by the teachers, admin staff and families and I am humbled by the awesome spririt of all of the beautiful people that I have been blessed to get to know. I look forward to continuing here at Marsh - a school that has inspired me to be do my best to be my best every day.
