    Posted by:

Welcome 4th graders!  I am excited for the school year to begin.  I know that there are many extra challenges this year, but I also know that all of us, including me, will be doing our best.  Hopefully you have received a letter with logging in information from Ms. Ripoli and myself.  Please follow the directions and send us a chat through Teams once you successfully login!  Or feel free to email us if you need help.

Sept. 1 -  8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. please come by the school to pick up your important packet of materials you will need to start the school year.  I hope to see you there!

We would like families to provide the following supplies for use at home:

    • Whiteboard/whiteboard markers/eraser (a clean, old sock will do!)
    • Sharpened pencils and erasers
    • Paper
    • Glue stick
    • Scissors
    • Colored Pencils

A few helpful links to help students get started with Distance Learning.

Most students are doing really with their assignments at I Ready.  Keep up the good work!  This week you have two new reading assignments at ReadWorks.  In the Notebook you have Math Countdown 18, a new writing assignment, and a science assignment on Seasons.

Check out today’s astronomy picture.  It’s kind of mind boggling.  Get some exercise and stay safe!

On my run yesterday I saw some really sweet chalk art that made me smile my whole run.  The pictures are in the gallery.

Don’t forget to do your ReadWorks articles, as well as math and writing.  Get outside, get some exercise and stay safe!

I love seeing the work getting done in the Class Notebook.  I am really enjoying the chance to coach you into being better writers and math students.  If you haven’t started work there, you are missing out!

We are halfway through the week.  Hopefully you have been doing I Ready regularly, 30 minutes a day of each.  Don’t forget to do your ReadWorks articles, as well as your math and writing.  I have also put some lessons into Teams (office.com) for you to try out.

It is Teacher Appreciation Week.  You might want to send an email to Mrs. Tuning or Mrs. Arghandiwal, or to one of your past teachers. They will love hearing from you.  It would make their day!

Get outside, enjoy the sun, and stay safe!

Today's Astronomy picture is just ... fascinating.  I was glad they talked about how they did it in the write up.

Our last science unit to cover would be chemistry.  I encourage you to take a look at the BrainPOP videos on the subject. BrainPOP Chemistry

Shout Out to Shore for getting 100% of her AR goal!

If you have your office login (your really need to set that up!), I have put some lessons into Teams.  Try out  Seasons or Adding and Subtracting Fractions.  Percents is a 6th grade lesson put there as a stretch goal.  :-)  You can find Teams as an app at Office.com.

Have a great day!  Enjoy the sunshine, get some exercise and stay safe!

  • Online Learning Plans

First of all I hope you and your families are all healthy and safe.  Other than a stupid trip and fall I had while running, my family is doing well.

This online learning is going to be an adventure for all of us.  Please be patient with your children, yourselves and me.

I am working on creating assignments for the students using our adopted math and reading programs.  The students will be able to access it at https://connected.mcgraw-hill.com//school/k7k1, but first they need to get their passwords from me.  Please send me an email - VeronicaDyson@antiochschools.net  to get your child's password.  I am not quite sure what this will look like yet, but getting passwords is a start.  :-)

I would really like for the students to continue doing I Ready math and Reading, as it is dynamic and gives them lessons at their level.  They can also log on to AR and take AR tests.

Email will continue to be the best way to stay in contact.  Take care of yourselves.
