Ms. Disario

My name is Jodi Disario (Ms. D) and I am the new guidance counselor at Live Oak and Bidwell High Schools. My schedule has me at Live Oak on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Bidwell on Thursdays and Fridays. I rotate between the schools on Mondays. I’m very excited to be in this position! I’ve been in education in some role or another for the past 25 years. I’ve been a teacher, a speech coach, a counselor, a secretary, a vice principal, a principal, a department chair, a theatre director, and back to counseling again–and I’m 100% sure I’m where I belong. My primary role will be in monitoring credit progress towards graduation, planning for college and career, and helping to keep students from falling into what I call “distraction traps” that might pull them off their paths to success. However, I’m always available to listen whenever someone needs help, resources, or just to talk. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication Education from Illinois State University, my Master's of Education in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama and my Masters of Education in Administration and Leadership from the University of Phoenix. I have two children. Delaney is studying acting and communications at the University of Illinois at Chicago and McKayla is a Deer Valley student.
