Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to my Tuesday Music at Kimball page. My name is Mrs. Tuning and I am thrilled to get to teach Kimball's students!
I know that teaching in Distance Learning through a pandemic can be more than a handful so I hope that keeping information here, as well as assignments and meetings through SeeSaw and Teams will help to make things easier for all of us.
On my calendar you will see my office hours and the different classes that I am teaching. Officially, my office hours are from 8:00-9:00; however, please know you can reach out whenever you need to and if I am available, I will answer.
The outline for my classes is 20-30 minutes online each week, and 15-20 minutes of homework; not to exceed 45 minutes each week.
SeeSaw SeeSaw is now up and running. If you are having difficulty finding my SeeSaw page, it is under my name Darla Tuning.
Teams All students in all grades can access their assignments in Teams. We will have our "live" meetings through Teams as well.
This webpage Yay! I have this page active now! You can look here, in SeeSaw, or in Teams for assignments. I will also place announcments and helpful information here as we go along.
My overall goal in music: Music is an expression of self. I want my students to be able to express themselves in a format that is most comfortable for them and if music is the vehicle, wonderful! We start in First Grade with learning the basics of counting music. learning to sing solfege, understanding the elements of music, and exploring different kinds of music and its history. As they move through the grades, students get more in-depth in all the areas, thereby expanding the ways in which they can use music to express their deepest selves.
At any time that you need to reach me, please feel free to chat me via Teams or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
