2020 Census Redistricting
UPDATE: At their meeting on February 23, 2022, the Board of Education approved Scenario Map 1. Click here to view Resolution 2021-22-41 Approving Adjusted Trustee Area Boundaries and the final map.
The Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) completed the process to transition from at-large elections to by-trustee area elections on July 1, 2019.
Education Code Section 5019.5 requires districts to review population data following every census to determine if voting Trustee Areas are still within the allowable variance and Trustee Area boundaries must be adjusted to make sure each area has as equal a population as possible. Any necessary adjustments must be made by March 1, 2022.
To ensure District Trustee Areas are in compliance, AUSD must review and potentially adjust its electoral map. The AUSD Board of Education reviewed initial draft scenarios adjusting the boundaries for trustee areas and accepted feedback from the community during a public hearing at their meeting on December 15, 2021. Map 2A was generated based on feedback from the meeting.
