COVID Update 1.10.2022

January 10, 2022

Dear AUSD Families,

As the Omicron variant surges, we want to let you know that we are monitoring the situation closely.

To date, AUSD has provided families over 12,000 at-home test kits. In addition, our in-person testing sites are continuing.

The AUSD testing clinic is free and no appointment is necessary. It is open Monday-Friday 3:00 pm-6:45 pm (on school days only). Please note we have a staff priority line 3-4pm, and AUSD athletic teams are encouraged to come in the evening after 5:30 pm. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the clinic is located at Antioch High School’s Beede Auditorium and Tuesday and Thursday at the Deer Valley High School Library Classroom (please park in the back lot off Sagebrush Drive).

We are working closely with Contra Costa Health Services and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Recently the CDC changed the isolation and quarantine guidance. CDPH has aligned with the new guidance, and we have summarized these changes in our new guidance document  www.antiochschools.net/COVID. You can find other helpful COVID-19 safety resources on our website along with information about the testing clinic.

The safety and health of our students and staff is our highest priority. As a general reminder, please stay home when sick, wear your mask, and follow good hand-hygiene guidelines. Reduce your risk by socially distancing and limiting your exposure to large social events. Each school site is stocked with the necessary PPE (personal protective equipment) such as masks and sanitizing stations.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school should you have any questions or concerns.

Very Sincerely,
Stephanie Anello
AUSD Superintendent
