Return to Headlines

“Happy New Year! This is Stephanie Anello, Superintendent of the Antioch Unified School District.  I hope this message finds you well. Over the holidays, you may have received a text from Primary Health about reporting your COVID testing results prior to returning to school. Please note that testing is not required prior to returning to school. However, we understand that most retailers are out of at-home testing kits due to the Omicron variant surge. In order to assist staff and students, we will be providing home testing kits on a first-come-first-serve basis tomorrow at Deer Valley High School and Antioch High School from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The distribution will be a drive-thru format and we ask that all students and staff who choose to pick-up a test remain in the car.

For those who would like an at-home test kit but are unable to pick-up Tuesday, school offices will have some on hand Wednesday and Thursday for pick-up during regular office hours. Test kits will also be available at the District Office located at 510 G. Street.

Additionally, we will resume our in-person testing centers beginning Thursday at Deer Valley High School from 3:00 – 7:00pm. After Thursday, we will resume the following schedule:

Antioch High School (Beede Auditorium), Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Deer Valley High School (back portables), Tuesday/Thursday, 3:00 – 7:00 pm.

Thank you again for your support as we continue to navigate this evolving situation. School offices will re-open Wednesday, January  5th. Pease do not hesitate to contact your child’s school should you have any questions, etc. Have a great rest of your day.”

Additionally, all staff who are unvaccinated will be able to test beginning this Wednesday at Beede Auditorium from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. We will provide further updates during our meeting tomorrow morning.

As always, let me know if you have any questions, etc.
