Antioch Unified School District Board Policy states (BP/AR 5113) that when a student is absent from school, the parent/guardian must notify the school every day of their absence by calling our school office (925) 779-7425.
- When calling please, “Identify yourself as the parent/guardian/caregiver of your child.”
- Provide the reason for the absence and date(s) of absence(s). According to AUSD BP/AR 5113, reasons such as “babysitting, appt. for parent, going shopping, oversleeping, didn’t feel like going, and nothing to wear” are unexcused absences.
- Absences may also be verified by sending a note with your child when he/she returns to school.
ABSENCES MUST BE VERIFIED WITHIN SEVENTY-TW0 (72) HOURS
It is very important that this information be provided to the school within the time allotted or your child’s absence will be considered unexcused. Excessive unexcused absences and/or tardies will result in truancy procedures.
