Our graduates will be productive and well-informed citizens. Antioch Unified School District Goal – The goal of Antioch Unified School District is to advance student achievement. Antioch Unified School District Teacher Induction Program Purpose – The Antioch Unified School District Teacher Induction Program exists to create and deliver teacher candidate induction program support services. Antioch Unified School District Teacher Induction Program Mission Statement –The Antioch Unified School District Teacher Induction Program is dedicated to supporting participating teachers. We exist to guide and challenge every teacher candidate to achieve excellence in his/her teaching practice, to grow in confidence as a professional educator and to willingly take an active role in the community of learners – both today and in the future. The AUSD Teacher Induction Program provides the opportunity for credentialed teacher candidates to expand and deepen their teaching knowledge and skills through participation in the program. The goals of the Antioch Teacher Induction Program are to:

Promote high student achievement through better classroom instruction facilitated by the improved training and support of teacher candidates.
Enable teacher candidates to be effective in teaching students who are culturally, linguistically, and academically diverse.
Develop reflective teachers through the implementation of the Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
Promote the professional success and retention of promising new teachers through a strong and nurturing support system that holds teacher candidates to high standards and expectations.
Provide consistent and intensive support to each teacher candidate by a trained mentor.
Include administrators as Teacher Induction Triad members who are actively involved in supporting the professional success and the retention of teacher candidates.
Assess the needs of teacher candidates and address those needs through a comprehensive professional development program.
Increase the teaching effectiveness and motivation of experienced teachers because of their participation as support providers.
Promote collegiality as teacher mentors and teacher candidates work together to actively pursue professional growth.
Provide a coordinated, continuous program of teacher preparation and development.
Ensure continuous program involvement through a comprehensive district-wide program of formative and summative evaluations.

Antioch Unified School District Teacher Induction Program Outcomes:

Each teacher candidate receives a strong, nurturing, individualized system of support.
Each teacher candidate completes Individual Learning Plans (ILP) that are based on the California Standards for the Teaching Profession, California Frameworks and AUSD Content Standards.
Teacher candidates participate in professional development based on state requirements, district focus, goals, and assessed needs.
