Hello, Kimball Community! My name is Alison Stroot. I'm very happy to be returning to the Kimball Elementary family as the Vice Principal. This is my fourth year in Antioch Unified. I spent a good deal of my teaching career in the San Jose Unified School District (21 years). As a classroom teacher, I have taught all grades except kindergarten, and worked as both an instructional coach and an intervention specialist. I hold a bachelor's degree in communication from Santa Clara University and a master's degree in education (Administration and Supervision) from San Jose State University. I'm passionate about student support, teacher support, and helping to make school everyone's happy place.
A little more about me: I have two kids, two dogs, two cats, and a leopard gecko. My hobbies include decorating cakes and cookies, Pilates, and gardening.

It is a privilege to serve as principal of such an amazing school community. Every day, our dedicated teachers and staff work to create a safe, welcoming environment where students feel valued, challenged, and inspired to learn. We believe every child has unique strengths, and we are committed to helping each student reach their full potential.
This year, our focus continues to be on strong academic achievement, positive school culture, and excellent attendance. We know that students learn best when they are in school every day. Even missing just one or two days each month can make it more difficult for students to keep up with classroom instruction and build strong relationships with their classmates. Our goal is for every student to attend school at least 95% of the time.
Families are our most important partners in education. You can make a tremendous difference by establishing consistent bedtime and morning routines, arriving at school on time, reading with your child for at least 20 minutes each day, reviewing homework, and talking together about what they learned at school. These simple daily habits help students develop confidence and lifelong learning skills.
Kimball is a special place because of the partnership we share with our families. Whether you're volunteering, attending school events, communicating with your child's teacher, or supporting learning at home, your involvement makes a meaningful impact. Together, we create a school community where every child feels supported and encouraged to succeed.
