Dallas Ranch Middle School

Today at 12:02 pm the Antioch Police Department asked us to lockdown our campus. They shared that an outside agency was serving a warrant and the suspect had barricaded himself in a nearby house. Out of an abundance of caution we are locking down the DRMS campus. Students are safe and we will provide an update soon.

This is a reminder that Dallas Ranch will be dismissing students at 1:05 today, August 8, and tomorrow, August 9. We hope that you and your students are having a great first day of school.

Good evening Aviator families! I hope you had a relaxing summer break! The 2024-2025 school year is upon us, and I am so excited! It is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year at Dallas Ranch Middle School. Our mission continues to be to engage and empower every child, and to have them feel a part of the DRMS Aviator family. Additionally, every year, we strive to challenge each student to grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Each new school year allows us to work hand in hand with all parents and families to ensure the very best for all children. If you did not attend Walk- Thru Registration, please plan to come with your student on the first day of school to register them. This event is mandatory for all students and one parent or guardian. The first day of school for all students is on Thursday, August 8th. During the first day of school, we will conduct orientations during classes with all students to help them adjust to Dallas Ranch Middle School. Dallas Ranch will welcome all students and make sure they get to their classes and have the full school experience. At this time, we will also review school-wide expectations and daily procedures. Please be reminded that our school hours are 8:25-2:40 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesdays are short days, and the hours are 8:25-1:05. * This year, our first 2 days of school will be short days with a release time of 1:05. Please prepare accordingly for pick up time on August 8th and 9th. Finally, If your student is interested in playing basketball, there will be boys and girls open gym on Thursday (8/8) and Friday (8/9) from 3:00-5:00pm. Additionally, basketball tryouts for boys and girls will begin on August 12th. If your student is interested in trying out for the team, please pick up a sports packet from the office or a PE teacher and turn it in to Ms. Sanders. You must turn the packet in by your grade level tryout date, 8th grade (8/12), 7th grade (8/13) & 6th grade (8/14). DO NOT TURN IT IN TO THE OFFICE or to any other teacher. Hey families, I hope you are enjoying your summer so far. Here is a great opportunity to take your students to see the Warriors and other NBA teams play. There is limited space for youth to Hi-five the players in the tunnel or stand with the teams center court during the singing of the National Anthem. Reminder! All 8th grade students need to report to the gym at 8:15. Teachers will check students and help them line up. At 8:45, Gym doors will close, and no other students will be allowed to enter or exit. At the end of promotion, if you are planning to have your student leave with you, please fill out the release form that was given to your student this morning at rehearsal. This will expedite the process for checking out your student. Please remember to hydrate and be prepared for the heat. Also, seating is first come, first served for those who have tickets. The gates open at 8:30. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chair or stand in specified areas. We look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow at 9:00 sharp.

We will be distributing the 2024 yearbooks tomorrow, June 4, starting at 8 am in front of the library. Students who pre-purchased will need their student ID number or ID card. If you did not purchase a book, a limited supply will be available for $65 cash only.

Good afternoon DRMS Families As we move into this last week of school, please be reminded that school will be dismissed at 1:10 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Students will be released at 12 noon on the last day of school. Please plan accordingly. Also, please remind your student to gather all of their belongings prior to the last day. Items left behind will be cleared from lockers and donated or discarded. One final note, please remind your students that all school rules apply through the last day of school. It is our goal to continuously provide a safe environment for all students every day.
