Spring has finally arrived, bringing with it allergy season and warmer weather. As a reminder, students are not permitted to carry any medication, including over-the-counter medicines such as allergy pills, eye drops, or cough medication. If your child has seasonal or environmental allergies, please be sure they take their allergy medication before coming to school each day. Taking medication as directed can help prevent discomfort, reduce symptoms, and support focus and participation in class. Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy and ready to learn! If you would like your child to have medication available at school, please contact the office for our procedures.

If you would like your child to participate in the Spring BACR (After-School Program), scheduled for March 30th through April 2nd from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., please use the QR code below to register.

Join us for a week full of fun, creativity, and school pride! Each day brings a new theme and a chance for students and staff to show their spirit. Check out the attached flier for daily dress-up themes, and let's make it a week to remember!

PTA is working toward its goal of 2,000 pre-filled plastic eggs for our upcoming event, and we can't do it without you! Please consider donating pre-filled eggs (store-bought or filled at home with candy, toys, or trinkets). Thank you for your help and for making this event special for our students. They are also looking for volunteers for the day!

Mrs. Ramos's 5th-grade class did an outstanding job in January, earning an impressive 95.6% attendance rate! This accomplishment reflects their commitment, responsibility, and dedication to showing up ready to learn each day. Way to go, Mrs. Ramos and students!

Mno Grant celebrates Black History Month!

February is a fun and busy month at Mno Grant Elementary! Students and staff will enjoy a variety of exciting school events throughout the month, including themed spirit days, special celebrations, and activities that promote kindness, school spirit, and community. These events give our students opportunities to connect, celebrate, and make great memories as we head into the second half of the school year.

Mrs. Kelley's class had a 100-tastic time celebrating the 100th Day of School! The room was full of smiles, laughter, and fun activities as students showed they're 100 days smarter and loving every minute of learning.

Mrs. Henley's class celebrated the 100th Day of School by counting, creating, and having fun all day long! The students were excited to show off everything they've learned in 100 days of school.

During our student's library visits they are enjoying being read the books nominated in the Primary and Picture Books for Older Readers categories for the California Young Reader Medal. Another category that our students can participate in is the Intermediate Category. These books are fiction chapter books recommended for grades 3rd-6th. The nominated books are The Labors of Hercules Beal by Gary D. Schmidt, Coyote Lost and Found by Dan Gemeinhart, and Dogtown by Katherine Applegate and Gennifer Choldenko. We have 1 copy of each of these books in our library donated to the library by our PTA. They can also be checked out at the public library. Please encourage your students to read these books so that they can participate in the voting which is due before April 1st. Happy 100th Day of School!

Hello 5th Grade Families,

Please look for a letter coming home with your student today with important information about their transition to Black Diamond Middle School for 6th grade.
We are excited to welcome our 6th graders back to a middle school campus and offer expanded opportunities in academics, social-emotional learning, intramural sports, and clubs.

A Welcome Event will be held at BDMS on Saturday, February 28. Please see the letter for details and plan to attend.

Students are invited to take part in Kindness Spirit Week from February 2 to February 6! Throughout the week, we'll celebrate kindness, compassion, and positivity by encouraging thoughtful actions and positive connections on campus. Let's work together to make our school an even kinder place to learn and work.

Put on your dancing shoes and join us for our Elementary School Sweetheart Dance on Friday, February 13th, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room! This is a sweet night of music, dancing, and fun for our students and their special grown-ups.

The PTA could use some love to make this event shine! We're looking for donations and volunteers to help with setup and cleanup. Any help is greatly appreciated and helps make the night magical for our kids.

School Enrollment Now Open!
Enrollment for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten opens on January 20, 2026. If your child will be starting TK or Kindergarten, we encourage families to begin the enrollment process early. Join us as we welcome our newest learners and set them up for a successful start to their school journey!

Please ensure that you complete all of your enrollment forms and bring any additional documentation that has been requested. Incomplete enrollment packets will not be accepted and will be returned.

There will be no school on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We encourage our school community to take time to reflect on Dr. King's legacy of service, equality, and kindness. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 20th.
