TGVA students in grades 7th and 8th are invited to attend the first town hall/pep rally on Friday, September 29, from 11:55-1:00 at Black Diamond Middle School. Seventh-grade students should wear white, and 8th-grade students should wear black to show their school spirit. Call the TGVA office by Thursday, 9/28 if your student will be attending. Provide your student's name and grade. Students should be dropped off at the TGVA office at 11:45 AM on 9/29 and picked up at 1:00 PM.

Hello TGVA Families, Next week, September 25th-September 29th, is parent teacher conferences for students in grades 6th-8th. If you have not yet scheduled a time to meet with your child's teachers to review their academic progress, please reach out to them via e-mail to do so. During parent teacher conference week, students will also be on a minimum day schedule. Each day they will attend school from 8:15 AM-11:10 AM. Hola familias TGVA, Las niñas de 8º grado en TGVA están invitadas a participar en el Día del Empoderamiento de las Niñas el 19 de octubre de 2023. El evento tendrá lugar en el recinto ferial de Contra Costa de 9:30 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. El día estará lleno de energía positiva mientras las niñas participan en discusiones y actividades reflexivas. Un autobús recogerá a las niñas de TGVA y Black Diamond Middle School (BDMS) de BDMS a las 9:00 AM. Regresarán a la escuela a las 2:30 PM. Se servirá el almuerzo y cada niña recibirá una camiseta gratis para usar en el evento. Hello TGVA Families, The 8th grade girls at TGVA are invited to participate in Girls Empowerment Day on October 19, 2023. The event will take place at the Contra Costa Fairgrounds from 9:30 AM-2:00 PM. The day will be filled with positive energy as the girls engage in thoughtful discussion and activities. A bus will pick the TGVA and Black Diamond Middle School (BDMS) girls up from BDMS at 9:00 AM. They will return to the school at 2:30 PM. Lunch will be served, and each girl will receive a free T-shirt to wear to the event. Buenas Tardes- Últimamente hemos visto un aumento del “Reto de Un Totopo Paqui,” la cual es una marca que reta a individuos a consumir totopos extremadamente picantes como parte de un “reto” de los medios sociales. Efectivo inmediatamente, los totopos y gomitas de “Reto Picante” quedan prohibidos en todas las escuelas de AUSD. Hay alumnos en todo el país que han sido hospitalizados como resultado de su reacción al nivel de picante de los totopos. Les recomendamos a los padres y tutores que hablen con sus hijos sobre el peligro de participar en este y otros retos de internet potencialmente peligrosos. Aviso: Se suspenderá a cualquier alumno que los lleve a la escuela, y mucho menos que rete a otros a tomar el reto.

Good Evening TGVA Families, We have recently seen a surge in the "Paqui One Chip Challenge" which is a brand challenging individuals to consume extremely hot chips as part of a social media "challenge". Effective immediately, the “Hot Brand Challenge” chips and gummies are banned from all AUSD campuses. Students across the nation have been hospitalized as a result of a reaction to the heat index of the chips. We encourage our parents and guardians to speak with their children about the dangers of participating in this and other potentially harmful internet challenges. Notice: Students will be suspended for bringing these to school let alone trying to encourage others to take the challenge.

Flag football tryout times for TGVA scholars in grades 6th-8th will continue on Thursday, 8/24 from 3:15 PM-4:30 PM and Friday 1:00 PM-3:30 PM. Scholars will meet in front of the gym under the Black Middle School sign.

Please remember to join your child's teacher on Microsoft Teams between 5:30 PM-6:30 PM to hear about important information that will help your child have a successful school year. Friday, August 18th will be a minimum day for students. Please have them follow their schedule on Microsoft Teams to join classes.

Hello TGVA Families. An additional registration day for grades TK-8 has been added to the schedule for families that have not yet completed the process. Thursday, August 3, 2023, between 1:00 PM-6:00 PM all families that have not registered should come to TGVA to pick up laptops and textbooks for their student(s).
