Why JROTC Is Beneficial for High School Students

Increased Graduation Rates:

Studies have shown that JROTC participation is correlated with higher graduation rates

compared to students not in the program, according to the RAND Corporation.

Focus on Life Skills:

JROTC emphasizes leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills,

which are essential for success in high school and beyond.

Character Development:

The program promotes positive character traits like self-discipline, respect, and

responsibility, which can help students stay on track academically and personally.

Credit Towards Graduation:

JROTC is typically offered as a general elective class, and students can earn credits

towards their graduation requirements for each semester they successfully

complete.

College and Career Readiness:

JROTC can help students prepare for college by developing leadership skills, earning

scholarships, or gain entry into vocational training programs.
