RADIOS, CELL PHONES, AND OTHER ELECTRONIC SIGNALING DEVICES (BP 5131 #9)
The Governing Board of the District regulates the possession and use of all electronic signaling devices that operate through the transmission or receipt of radio waves, including, but not limited to, cell phones, pagers, and other signaling equipment (e.g.Smartwatches and Smartglasses), by students. Cell phones and other types of electronic devices must be turned off during class time. Student use of cell phones and other electronic devices is restricted to time before and after school. (EC 48901.5).
A student will be allowed to bring an electronic signaling device onto campus if a parent, guardian, or caregiver of the student provides a written note from a licensed physician or surgeon indicating that such a device is essential for the health of the student. The use of the device must be limited to purposes related to the health of the student.
