Elementary Education
Antioch Unified School District proudly serves approximately 7,250 students across fifteen elementary schools. Our district mission is to ensure that every scholar learns at grade level or above.
To achieve this goal, our schools are committed to creating healing and resilient-centered environments that nurture the whole child. Students engage in a rigorous, standards-based curriculum in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, supported by restorative practices, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning.
We are also proud to offer Dual Immersion programs at Fremont and John Muir Elementary Schools, with pathways continuing at Dallas Ranch Middle School. These programs reflect our commitment to bilingualism, biliteracy, and cultural appreciation.
Our teachers receive ongoing, high-quality professional development, including extensive training in foundational reading instruction for grades K–2. In the upper grades, the focus builds toward reading comprehension, listening skills, and critical thinking. This strong academic foundation prepares students for success as they transition to middle and high school. In mathematics, Antioch Unified has launched a districtwide initiative aligned with the California Math Framework. This work prioritizes Learning Acceleration and targeted interventions to ensure all students have equitable access to rigorous, grade-level content, while also beginning implementation of Building Thinking Classrooms in select schools.
At Antioch Unified, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment. Together, we are building the habits of success that will carry our scholars forward in school and in life. #AUSDproud
