High School Selection and Information Night for all 8th-grade families is scheduled for October 24th at Deer Valley High School Theater and Cafeteria 6-7 pm and October 26th at Antioch High School Beede Auditorium and Cafeteria 6-7 pm. The various programs offered at the high schools will be explained. Please join us!

Our first Parent Advisory Committee Meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Items on the agenda are: 1. District News & Resources – highlights of our students shining across the district 2. AUSD Schools Bond – for much needed school community environment upgrades 3. Equity Audits – district-wide school transformational improvement efforts 4. Yesterday some future golfers hit the links. Held at Lone Tree Golf, 40 students were introduced to some standard skills. Big thanks to Lone Tree for hosting such a great event. Thank you for your continued support.

The Great California ShakeOut is coming to a school near you!!! The Great California ShakeOut, which will take place on Oct. 19, at 10:19 a.m., is a chance for people to practice the drop, cover and hold maneuver wherever they are — at work, home, school, walking in a park or at a shopping mall. AUSD schools will participate in the Great Shakeout to provide students and staff with the opportunity to practice what to do during an earthquake and after an earthquake.

The AUSD College Fair is hosted at Antioch High School, on Tuesday, October 24th, 6-8 pm in the large gym. Various universities, the military, and trades will be in attendance. Admission is free and the event is open to all grade levels. Please join us!

The Day of Empowering Girls is set for Thursday October 19th, 9am at the Antioch Fairgrounds. The annual team building workshop brings 600+ 8th grader girls together with community and high school leaders.

Fremont Elementary School on Cinco de Mayo, celebrated everyone’s culture. Students and staff wore clothing representative of their cultural heritage. En este cinco de mayo, celebramos las culturas de todos. El alumnado y el personal se vistieron con ropa tradicional de su herencia cultural.

Check out Sutter Elementary School! Ms. Jenna, our new librarian, put together a Poet-Tree. Teachers shared their favorite poems from Shel Silverstein and students created their own poems, which were added to our Poet-Tree for National Portry month. Check out our newly reopened library and our “Poet tree”, next week during our book fair.
