Professional development is a way for individuals and teams to expand and/or deepen their skills as educators. Professional development generally refers to formal classes, seminars, and workshops. Collaborative professional development aligned to student learning and standards that prepares, trains, and recruits high-quality teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, and other staff.

New Teacher Training

Antioch Unified School District hosts three full days of orientation for all new hires. Our goal is to familiarize all new staff members to the AUSD way and ensure that everyone feels confident and comfortable in their new teaching positions with us! Whether this is your very first year as a teacher or if you are a seasoned and experienced educator who has recently joined the AUSD team, we are committed to creating a community of practice that is supportive, meaningful and beneficial for everyone. ATIP - Antioch Teacher Induction Program

The Antioch Unified School District Teacher Induction Program exists to create and deliver teacher candidate induction program support services. The Antioch Unified School District Teacher Induction Program is dedicated to supporting participating teachers. We exist to guide and challenge every teacher candidate to achieve excellence in his/her teaching practice, to grow in confidence as a professional educator and to willingly take an active role in the community of learners – both today and in the future. The AUSD Teacher Induction Program provides the opportunity for credentialed teacher candidates to expand and deepen their teaching knowledge and skills through participation in the program. T
